Louise Rogers - Miss Great Britain Figure/Bodyfitness Champion
Louise Rogers has joined our ever growing Sponsorship Team. Here is her profile:
"Hi everyone!
Let me introduce myself…..
My name is Louise Rogers and I’m an IFBB Professional Figure competitor representing the UK. I’m also an ex Miss Great Britain Figure/Bodyfitness Champion.
I have been a qualified personal trainer and sports therapist for 8 years and built up my knowledge and experience over this time… I have competed just three times to reach my goal of professional status in my chosen sport.
Aside from competing in fitness and personal training I also work as a presenter for The Active Channel on Sky 281. The shows I present focus on weight training for women, although at times viewers are also led through my competition journey – so that they’re able to watch me take shape as the weeks progress.
In terms of my training and background, I began athletics training years ago when I was in school. I was always talented at sports, particularly sprinting and hurdling. However when I left school I began attending the gym with my sister, simply going along and spending time on the stepper whilst my sister did her work out. From this point on I became quite interested in gym training and whilst at university I trained to be a fitness instructor and personal trainer. After I had completed my qualifications in personal training I began working at a local bodybuilding/power lifting gym and I was paired up with a colleague that was training for strong man events. I must admit at the time I thought this was an unusual pairing! However he introduced me to weight training and after a few months I switched to strength training and bodybuilding, and almost completely removed cardio from my work outs.
After several years of training with weights I had developed a shapelier body and I became interested in Figure/Bodyfitness competitions. I had seen them featured in many fitness magazines and I remember seeing the likes of figure competitors like Monica Brant and thinking wow that would be a fantastic competition to try, plus an amazing look to try and aim for.
So… in 2008 I did my first competition and won, whilst also becoming British Champion in the same year! I then qualified to compete for the UK at the IFBB World Championships in Lake Como, Italy. It was at this competition I won my IFBB Pro card. I am now preparing to compete in the professional league in America.
In terms of other interests I like all sorts!!!! I really enjoy going out socialising, clubbing and for meals.. particularly Indian and Thai food! I love this! I also enjoy writing, studying, training my PT clients, going to the beach, seeing my family happy, cinema, shopping for shoes!! Plus I like taking my Chihuahua (Cindy) out to play! She’s a little darling.. although I won’t let her lift dumbbells yet… I also enjoy helping other people with their goals, especially when they have the same passions as me.
In short, I love fitness and I work hard and play hard!"
